In the heart of one of the most exclusive locations in Latin America, an unprecedented art gallery project has launched, showcasing a roster of significant international artists and hosting breakthrough contemporary art exhibitions.
In addition to the current 3200 square feet gallery, a second space of a larger size is expected to open its doors in September in the region of Yucatan as well as 14 artists residencies in custom-built studios.
With the ambition of becoming a major player in the contemporary art world, IK Lab is expanding the team and seeks an Assistant to Director, Santiago Rumney-Guggenheim.
Qualified applicants will have 2+ years of experience working in a commercial gallery, museum, auction house, or arts-related setting as well as proficiency with art database systems, such as Artnet, Artprice, Artsy, Gallery manager...
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish, detail oriented, proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, and has experience multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate possesses an acute attention to detail and is an excellent communicator.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Coordinating exhibitions by organizing consignments and loans by communicating with artists, framers, and museums.- Managing Director’s calendar, including events, openings, art fairs, etc.- Assisting Director with offers, appraisals, and viewings, including installation logistics.- Organizing travel and accommodations, (hotels, flights, reservations, and itineraries).- Preparing and organizing artist information and inventory for art fairs.
